Julia and Lupe R. Loya Jr. of Beeville are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their son, Servando Victor Loya, to Ana Milena Alvarez, the granddaughter of Rosa Parra of Medellin, Colombia.

The bride-to-be is a 1995 graduate of Liceo San Rafael in her home town of Medellin. She is a recent graduate from the University of Houston, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture with magna cum laude honors. She is currently employed as a natural gas pipeline network analyst at CenterPoint Energy in Houston.

The prospective groom is a 1995 graduate of A.C. Jones High School and earned two bachelor degrees (in finance and accounting) from The University of Texas at San Antonio. He is currently employed at Lime Rock Resources as an oil and gas revenue accountant in Houston.

The couple will wed on Friday, Nov. 4, at The River Oaks Garden Club in Houston. A ceremony also will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Saturday, Nov. 19, in Beeville.
