Alfredo R. Garza, Jr., 63, of Conroe, Texas, passed peacefully on November 4, 2011, surrounded by loved ones, at Madison St. Joseph Hospital in Madisonville, TX. After a battle with lung cancer, Fred went to be with his Heavenly Father. He is now with Him embraced with His love.

He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on December 10, 1947, to Alfredo and Marcela Garza. He was preceded in death by his son, Alfredo Garza III; his father, Alfredo G. Garza, Sr.; and step-mother, Isabel Garza. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rosalinda; daughter, Carrie Jo and son-in-law, Jesse L. Corona; daughter, Roxane and son-in-law, Samuel Garza; son, Mark A. Garza and daughter-in-law, Virginia; grandchildren: Carrissa, Megan and husband Cole, Jessica, Sammy, Nicolas, and Marissa. Also surviving are his mother, Marcela; his brothers, Sonny and Rudy; and his sisters, Mary, Isabel, Belinda, Ella and Diana and their families; also special niece, Loyce and husband Joe, and close friends, Julian and Liz.

Special thanks for the daily loving care given by his sister-in-law, Mary Koenig; nephew, Efren; niece, Erica; great-niece, Lysa and husband Tyler; great-nephews, Brandon and Travis; great-great-nephew, “Little Man Axton”; and great-great niece, “Princess Alexah”.

He enjoyed cooking for everyone their favorite foods, listening to rhythm and blues, Cajun, country and gospel music. He was a loving and caring son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all, including the many who called him "Papo".
