She was born to Novella Ousley on Oct. 21, 1996, in Beeville. At the age of five, she joined the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by Rev. Eric R. Tarver. She was the youngest member of the church drill team and enjoyed singing in the youth choir. She played the tambourine in the youth choir and the drums and keyboard for the church choir and Joys of Faith group.
She attended elementary school in Beeville and was enrolled in the gifted and talented program. She made the all “A” honor roll. She attended John P. Stevens High School as a freshman, joined the school band and played basketball.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Lillie Mae Jones; and her paternal grandfather, Oscar Toliver Jr.
Survivors include her parents, Novella and Darin Ousley; paternal grandmother, Beverly Toliver; brothers, Kevin Michael Wade and Lonnie Darin Ousley Jr.; sisters, Kirstie (Koko) Wade, Taylor Green, Karissa and Kayla Ousley; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 5, at Treviño Funeral Home from noon to 9 p.m.
A celebration of life was held Friday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Eric R. Tarver officiating and assisted by Rev. Claude Axel, Pastor of the Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church of Corpus Christi. Interment followed at Saint Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Curtis Jones, Kevin Michael Wade, Tyrone Davis, James Jones, Fred Davis, Phillip Taylor, Kevin Taylor and Robert Brooks.
