Mr. Menchaca was born Sept. 6, 1933, in El Charco to Antonio and Manuela Menchaca. He was retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Mary Alice Menchaca; and one son, Baby Menchaca.
Survivors include his wife, Eloisa G. Menchaca of Skidmore; four daughters, Oralia (Robert) Martinez and Susan (Richard) M. Gonzales, both of San Antonio, Sylvia (Enrique) Jimenez and Ester (Raynaldo) Gonzales, both of Skidmore; seven sons, Rufino (Sylvia) Menchaca Jr. of Three Rivers, Rafael (Maria) Menchaca, Reynaldo Menchaca and Felix (Sandra) Menchaca all of Skidmore, Jose (Delia) Angel Menchaca of Tynan, Jesse (Sharon) Menchaca of Alice and Armando (Beatrice) Menchaca of San Antonio; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 7, at Treviño Funeral Home Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. A rosary was recited there on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. Family received friends from 1 to 9 p.m.
The funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, Jan. 9, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Skidmore at 10:30 a.m. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Pallbearers were James Del Bosque, Jesse Urdiales, Joe Menchaca Jr., Raynaldo Gonzales Jr., Jesse Menchaca Jr., Felix Menchaca Jr. and Armando Menchaca Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Roberto Gonzales, Mark Menchaca, Matthew Menchaca and Tony Menchaca.
