He was a 2002 graduate of Alice High School and was in the honors band. After he graduation, he moved to Arizona, where he attended Collins College and received a bachelor of arts degree in media arts, film and HDTV. He worked in various job fields in Alice and for the TDCJ in Beeville and was currently working for Patterson Drilling. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Isnael G. Rodriguez and Anselma Rodriguez.
Survivors include his fiancé, Georgie Murchison, and her daughter, Hannah; his parents, David Rodriguez Sr. and Soila Rodriguez of Alice; two brothers, Robert (Alexa Garcia) Rodriguez and Michael Daniel Rodriguez, both of Alice; maternal grandparents, Fidencio and Virginia Reyna; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary was recited there at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial followed at Alice Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Rodriguez, Michael D. Rodriguez, Tim Krebs, Hector Morin, Fidencio Reyna III, Chris Moya, Alvin Amador and Craig Van Dyke.
Honorary pallbearers were Timothy Krebs Jr., Steven Govea, Roel Rodriguez Jr., Casey Garcia, Victor Rodriguez Jr., Isnael G. “Trey” Rodriguez III and Mark Rodriguez.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rosas Funeral Home, Alice.
