Mrs. Cushman was born on Dec. 22, 1950, in Beeville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Jasso Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Willie and Carmen Cuellar; and her stepfather, Raul “Rudy” Garza.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed singing in gospel groups and baking cakes.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Cushman; two daughters, Melissa Gonzales and Leticia (Tommy) Ochoa; two brothers, Raul Garza Jr. and Rene Roberto Garza; two sisters, Lillie (Lupe) Herrera and Barbara Treviño; her mother, Janie C. Garza; and five grandchildren, all of Beeville.
Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 14, at Treviño Funeral Home from 1 to 4 p.m. A rosary was recited there Sunday evening at 7 o’clock. Family received friends there from 1 to 9 p.m.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Rev. Luke officiating. Burial took place at the Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Frank Jerome Treviño, Adam Logan Gonzales, Tommy Ochoa, Eric Herrera, Bobby Garza and Robert Paz.
Honorary pallbearers were Zachary J. Gonzales, Felicia Ochoa, Kaitlin Gonzales, Savannah T. Acosta, Jason Treviño, Wally Herrera, Joe Henry Herrera, Roland Treviño and Leslie Ann Paz.
