Ruth Kay Goode, daughter of Zelma Lewis was born in Beeville, TX, May 24, 1923, and passed away on February 13, 2012, in Port Arthur, Texas, where she lived for the past two years.

She married Woodrow Wilson Goode, Sr., on November 5, 1955, and they resided in Beeville, Texas. She was well known in the community and everyone loved her. Her sense of humor and loving spirit will be greatly missed. Her daughter, Ms. Johnnie Mae Edmonds, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children; Willie Mae (Rufus) Miller, James (Kathy) Lewis, Henry Kay, LaVonne (Charleston) Alexander, Woodrow (Angela) Goode. She is also survived by her sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Karen Hadden and Rose Hazel Phillips and nephew, Ronnie McCraig.

Visitation was held at the Trevino Funeral Home on February 23rd, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services were held at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, on February 24, at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Eric R. Tarver, Pastor and Rev. B. Eugene Langley, Eulogist. She was buried alongside her husband at Beeville Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers were Rufus Miller, Jr., Andre Funt, Marcus Kay, Kary Smith, Martin Medellin and Charleston Alexander.
