Dora Borrego Villarreal, 92, of Victoria, TX, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 19, 1919, in Bee County, to Ines and Trinidad Salinas. Dora was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, an auxiliary member of the Catholic War Veterans, Purple Heart, American GI Forum, and volunteered at the Veterans’ Clinic.

Dora was preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Borrego of Beeville; father of her children; her brothers, Santos Salinas, Jesus Salinas, and Manuel Salinas; and her sister, Mary Williams.

Dora is survived by her husband, David Villarreal of Victoria; her children, Gloria Villarreal (Ray), Rosie Garana (Eduardo), and Oscar R. Borrego (Rosie); her step-children, Wanda Delgado, David Wayne Villarreal, and Norma Lee Ramos; her grandchildren, Gerard Villarreal, Jason Villarreal, Kristine Garana (James Medina), Margaret Garana, Edward Garana (Ginger), Aaron Borrego (Christina), and Leslie Borrego; step-grandchildren, Liza Monroe, Madelyn Bautista (Jose), Josie Delgado, Evelyn Villarreal, Andrew Villarreal, and Emily Hill; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Carlos Salinas and Felipe Salinas (Viola).

The family would like to thank her care givers for the loving and gentle care they provided, the staff at Texan Nursing and Rehab on Navarro, and the staff of South Texas Hospice.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 6 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, February 29, 2012, from 8 - 9:30 a.m. at Artero Memorial Chapels, Victoria. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Victoria. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery in Beeville.
