PETTUS — The Lady Eagle volleyball team did not make the playoffs this year by the smallest of margins, but the girls brought home several District 30-1A honors from the coaches.

Lady Eagle Ryan Grayson was named the district’s Outstanding Hitter for her play along the net for coach Erica Garza. Madi Garza was named as a first team All-District selection for her play this year. The Lady Eagles got two players on the district’s second team as Tori Arrisola and Randi Arrisola were chosen. The honorable mention list included three Lady Eagles. Amanda Escandon, Sarah Hunter and Destiny Carrillo earned the coaches’ accolades.

The Pettus girls also were great in the class room. Randi Arrisola, Madi Garza, Tristian Moore, Ryan Grayson and Sarah Hunter earned their spot on the Academic All-District team by compiling a 90 plus average in their classroom work to go along with their being on the court.
