David Bulgerin of Pflugerville participated in the 2008 Texas A&M Regional Junior Science Bowl held at Texas A&M University in College Station on March 7. David is a team member of the Austin Area Homeschoolers and their team won first place at the event. This win advanced the team to attend the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., at the end of April.

This will be a five-day “learning experience” where they get to tour museums, meet congressmen, listen to guest speakers and participate in the national bowl competition.

Twenty teams from Texas middle schools competed in this regional event sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and coordinated by Texas A&M University.

David also participated in the Science Olympiad held at the University of Texas in Austin on Feb. 28, where he placed second in the bridge engineering competition.

David is the son of Becky and Andy Bulgerin of Pflugerville and grandson of Margie and Darvin Dieringer of Bee County.
