Holiday events planned at art museum

Participants will create holiday ornaments and decorations using various materials including candy on Friday, Dec. 21, from 2-3:30 p.m. (Ages: 7 and up)

Call the museum at 358-8615 to sign up and join the fun. Participation is free.

BISD tours

High school students from Beeville Independent School District’s art classes toured “Folk Toys, Folk Joys: Selections from the International Folk Art Collection of Sherry Kafka Wagner” art exhibit this week. The exhibit features thematic scenes in each gallery, including an animal parade, people of the world, village scenes, modes of transportation and recycled objects.

Selections from her delightfully whimsical collection will be on view at the museum through Jan. 3, 2013.

BAM’s December schedule

BAM will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday with the exception of the following days:

Closed: Monday, Dec. 24-Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Closed: Monday, Dec. 31-Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.

The Beeville Art Museum, located at 401 E. Fannin St., is open to the public free of charge.
