Richard "Rick" Syrett, was born May 6, 1947, in New Orleans, LA., to John Arthur and Millicent (Jean). Richard Syrett passed away on July 19, 2012, at the VA hospital in Houston, Texas.

He graduated from A. C. Jones High School in 1966. Richard "Rick" served in the U.S. Army in the Airborne Infantry from 1966-1978. He spent most of his time in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge from the military in 1978, Richard attended Bee County College. His favorite job that he loved was being a roughneck in the oilfield. He was a fantastic carpenter and could build anything. Richard traveled many roads; too many to mention here. In 2003, he moved to Manvel, Texas. He loved the Cowboys, concerts, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John Arthur and Millicent (Jean) Syrett; one sister, Doris Actellick and one niece, Bonnie Lynn Coronado. He is survived by his everlasting friend and loving companion, Inez Somers of Manvel, Texas, and her grandchildren, Destinee and Karma, who he loved as his own granddaughters. He is also survived by one sister, Nancy Coronado of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Chris Syrett of Houston, Texas, Raymond Syrett and his wife Susan of Orange, Texas, Tony Coronado, that he thought of as his third brother of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Starleen Grossman of Illinois and Ashley Jean Syrett of Wisconsin; one granddaughter, Mahli Dawn; three nephews, Tony Coronado, Jr. and his wife Sisa of Houston, TX, Christopher Coronado of Katy, TX, Toby Syrett and family in Washington; family member, Ryan Robinson, Houston, TX; one niece, Angel Syrett, Austin, TX, plus numerous great-nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Richard "Rick" was a happy-go-lucky guy, whom we will miss and love forever!
