Preston Johnson, 80, formerly of Beeville, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Corpus Christi.

Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 6, 1933, in Beeville, and was a retired educator. He also served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include Mary Benson Johnson of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Phyllis Johnson of Corpus Christi and Anita Chavero of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren, Victor Smith, Ashley Chavero and Christopher Chavero; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 12, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Treviño Funeral Home chapel followed by a graveside service beginning at 4 o’clock at Saint Rose Cemetery with Rev. Eric R. Tarver officiating.
