BEEVILLE – The A.C. Jones High School 2012-13 Academic Decathlon team performed well at regional competition recently and will be advancing to the State Academic Decathlon meet in February.

Medaling individually at the region meet were Emily Barris, Reid Carrillo and Elijah Sanchez in speech; Emily Barris, Reid Carrillo, Martha Salazar and Elijah Sanchez in interview; and Reid Carrillo was the 4th place overall individual medalist. As a team, the group won third place in the super quiz relay and fourth place overall in a highly competitive district.

The team worked hard covering this year’s theme, Russia, and will do their best in representing A.C. Jones High School at the Academic Decathlon State Competition. The team is coached by Roy Ramirez and Catherine Thornton.
