Joe Henry “Josal” or “JoJo” Salazar of Temple, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013.

Mr. Salazar was born Jan. 20, 1947, in Beeville. He graduated from A.C. Jones High School and joined the Marines, serving in the Vietnam War. He had a passion for music and taught himself to play the guitar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Juarez Salazar; his mother, Estella Ortiz Salazar; and a brother, Pedro Luis Salazar.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen Green Salazar; his daughter, Iishha Salazar; his son, Joshua Marks Salazar; and grandchildren, Emily Jestine Salazar, Christian Addis and Kyra Salazar; siblings, Mary Alice Coenen of Clements, Calif., Janie Salinas of Beeville and Yolanda S. Hawkins of Temple; and nieces and nephews.
