Mrs. Elligan was born in Beeville on March 17, 1943. She worked in the Food Service Industry at NAS Chase Field for more than 20 years and also as a food handler for the Beeville Independent School District for 20 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by William Dexter Bright, David H. Bright, Douglas Maurice Bright, and both parents, Clara E. Lewis and William Bright; a niece and nephew, Clara Cee-Cee Dembo and Shedric “Bubba” Lewis III; and sister-in-law, Gloria Jean Lewis.
Survivors include a son, Robin Bright of Beeville; three daughters, Cheryl E. Elligan-Brown of Junction City, Kan., Adrienne C. Elligan and Mary Margaret Elligan, both of San Antonio; two brothers, Shedric Lewis of Beeville and Therman Shelby Lewis of Aransas Pass; two sisters, Linda Taylor of Columbus, Ohio, and Glenda Dembo of Beeville; and two grandchildren, Endia S. McNeal and Jamie A. Brown.
Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home chapel. A praise and worship service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Tarver officiating. Burial followed at the St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Justin Dwan Lewis, T.J. Lewis, David Bright Jr., Byron Lee Lewis, Whitney H. Lewis, Blayne A. Lewis, Clovis Robert Dembo Michael Langley and Lionel Hodge.
Honorary pallbearers were Shelby T. Lewis and Shedric Lee Lewis Jr.
