Betty Lee Kunkel Griffin, 79, of Houston, died Dec. 21, 2012.

Mrs. Griffin was born to Manfred and Eleanora Kunkel on Nov. 2, 1933, in Karnes City. She graduated from Karnes City High School in 1951 and was an employee of Sears Roebuck and Company for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lloyd Wayne Kunkel; and her husband, Harold “Griff” Eugene Griffin.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Jean) Griffin of Seabrook and Brian (Pam) Griffin of Katy; a daughter, Rebecca (Sean) Gore of Katy; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, a sister, Clarice Kunkel (Erwin) Gross of Houston; and a brother, Nolan (Deanie) Kunkel of Buda.

A memorial service was held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Houston on Jan. 5.
