Employers interested in utilizing this free service will need to create a free CBC Works account to post job listings for part-time and full-time jobs, internships and temporary positions. Within the listing, the employer may post the job description, the hiring criteria and the application process for the position. Once the job listing is approved, it is live and immediately available for students and alumni to view. CBC Works provides employers with a free resource to reach hundreds of qualified, talented and educated CBC students who are searching for a job.
“CBC Works is in its early stages, but I hope that employers in the Coastal Bend realize what a great opportunity this is to reach our amazing students. Sometimes our students don’t know where to start to find a job, and CBC Works is a valuable tool we provide them for free. However, we don’t only want to help them find jobs — we also want to help them start their career,” said Lindsey Hagen, career development adviser for CBC.
Students also have to create free accounts to utilize the service and search for jobs. CBC Works has options for students to upload their resume, cover letter and references for a specific position that the employer will be able to review upon submission immediately.
Assistance is available on all CBC sites for students to create accounts and get familiar with the CBC Works portal and its features. Students enrolled at any time since spring 2011, even dual credit students, already have accounts that will allow them to log-in and search for available positions. Students or employers with questions, or recent alumni who wish to access this service, will need to contact Lindsey Hagen at (361) 354-2728 or toll-free at 1-866-722-2838, ext. 2728.
