Henry Ella Kellum, 89, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, in a Portland care center.

She was born in Choate and had been a lifelong resident of Sinton. She had been employed by Weiner’s Department Store for 21 years, was a homemaker and had farmed her family’s farm until her illness.

She married C.M. “Rusty” Kellum on Sept. 16, 1938.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Mary Granberry; her husband of 56 years, C.M. “Rusty” Kellum; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, A.T. and Frances Granberry, Ray and Betty Granberry and Gentry and Helen Granberry.

Survivors include a son, Charles Elton “Stuffy” Kellum of Sinton; a daughter, Mary Lynn (Marvin W.) Havelka of Beeville; two grandchildren, Miles Elton Havelka of San Antonio and Nova Lynn Montgomery of Huntsville; and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Nikole Montgomery of Guadalajara, Mexico, and Colton Barrett Havelka of San Antonio.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton, with the Rev. Mack Caffey officiating. Interment will follow in the Sinton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 320 W. Borden, Sinton, TX 78387, or to a favorite charity.

Arrangements were under the direction of Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Inc.
