He was born on Sept. 15, 1921, in Sabinas Hidalgo, Mexico. He married Hermelinda Tovar on Feb. 10, 1945, in Mexico. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and employed as farm labor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hermelinda (Tovar) DeLeon on July 1, 2007.
Survivors include two daughters, Alamar DeLeon of Houston and Angelica D. (Marcos) Rea of Beeville; three sons, Jaime (Adelaida) DeLeon of Skidmore, Joe (Maria) DeLeon of Corpus Christi and Javier DeLeon of Rosenberg; one brother, Diego DeLeon of Sabina Hidalgo, Mexico and three grandchildren, Elvira DeLeon, Christine DeLeon and Daniel Rea.
Visitation will be held today (Saturday) from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons chapel. A rosary will be recited there at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
