She was born May 30, 1937, to Eleuterio and Rosa (Velis) Salinas in Edinburg. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Guadalupe Salinas Sr., on July 20, 1971.
Survivors include four daughters, Martina S. (Gilbert) Alvear of Skidmore, Francisca S. (Javier) Vega of Houston, Leticia Salinas of Karnes City and Rosario Salinas (Jose) Olvera of Skidmore; two sons, Mario (Zoila) Salinas and Jesse (Beatrice) Salinas, all of Odem; a sister, Gume (Ernesto) Sanders of Karnes City; one brother, Felipe (Helen) Salinas of Karnes City; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 9 o’clock at Immaculate Conception Church in Skidmore, with Father Sebastian Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Skidmore Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Blas Hernandez, Frankie Vega, Adrian Alvear, Jesse Salinas Jr., Jaime Salinas and Pete Salinas Jr.
