Rev. Guadalupe L. Galvan, 68, died in Beeville, Texas, on Monday, September 9, 2013.

Guadalupe was born February 10, 1945, in Sinton, Texas, to Herman Aguirre and Beatrice Longoria Martinez. He married Marina Garza on May 2, 1975, in Beeville, Texas.

He was the minister at Grace Christian Center. He served in the United States Army, and he enjoyed fishing and working in the yard.

He is preceded in death by his parents; great-granddaughter, Lila Nevaeh Covarrubias; and his brothers, Guillermo Martinez and Guillermo Aguirre.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Marina G. Galvan; children, Veronica (Gabriel) Gonzalez of Beeville, Adrian (Irma) Zamora of Corpus Christi, Janie (James) Sierra of Victoria, Jeannie (Hector) Nieto of Temple, Irene Galvan of Beeville; siblings, Eddie Solis of Houston, Marta Martinez and Yolanda Martinez both of Skidmore, Elena Flores of Houston, Janie Garcia and Reynaldo Martinez, both of Beeville, Lupe Aguirre of Houston and Amelia Trevino of Sinton; 11 grandchildren, Gabriel (Nichole) Gonzalez, Jr., Adrian Anthony Gonzalez, Juan Manuel (Victoria) Gonzalez, all of Beeville, Ryan Cody Zamora of San Antonio, Beatrice Marina Zamora of Beeville, Michelle Flores of Victoria, Michael Galvan of Victoria, Mark (Esmeralda) Covarrubias of Victoria, Jessica Sierra of Bryan, Madison, Paige Nieto of Temple, Cameron Taylor Nieto of Temple; 11 great-grandchildren; Araseli Dru, Jewelia Beth, Scarlet Leigh, Elijah Joseph, Dylan Garcia, Jaydn Flores, Joelyn Flores, Zaily Galvan, Novali Covarrubias, Maya Covarrubias and Neriah Daniels.

Visitation was held Wednesday, September 11, 2013, from 2-9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home Chapel with a prayer service held that evening at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Consuelo Rodriguez officiating and with music by Ernest and Alicia Perez. A burial followed at Beeville Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers were Gabriel Gonzalez, Jr., Juan Gonzalez, Adrian Gonzalez, Cody Zamora, Michael Galvan, Mark Covarrubias and Dylan Garcia. Honorary pallbearers were Michelle Flores, Madison Nieto, Cameron Nieto, Beatrice Zamora, Jessica Sierra, Marta Martinez and Reynaldo Martinez.
