Mr. Flores was born Jan. 15, 1938, to Callisto and Teofila (Guerrero) Flores in Hebbronville. He was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Callisto and Teofila Flores.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Flores of Sinton; seven sons, Oscar Flores and Wally Flores, both of Skidmore, Reuben Flores of Odem, Juan Flores and Adan Flores Jr., both of Mathis and Alfredo Pena and Anarbol Pena, both of Beeville; three daughters, Janie Gonzales of Mathis and Christina Pena and Teofila Flores, both of Sinton; three brothers, Francisco Flores of Mathis, Callisto Flores of Robstown and Lauro Flores of Hebbronville; six sisters, Yolanda Hernandez, Irma Flores and Sulema Salinas, all of Kansas, Maria Rodriguez of Coleman, Eva Garcia of Houston and Hortencia Rodriguez of Robstown; 25 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at Treviño Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Interment followed at the John J. Welder Memorial Cemetery in St. Paul.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Wally Flores Jr., Reuben Lee Flores, Martin Gonzales Jr., Robert Flores, Roger Flores, Carlos Gonzalez, Lorenzo Gomez and Rene Rodriguez.
