Elmo Lee Brockman, 89, a longtime resident of Pettus, died in his home Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013.

Mr. Brockman was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Gillette to Lonzo Harrison Brockman and Pauline Brockman. He served in the United States Army, fighting in World War II in Europe. He was a retired postmaster and, while living in Kenedy, was very active in the community, having been a member of Rotary Club and a Master Mason. He loved working with genealogy and was a member of the Mayflower Society.

Survivors include his three daughters, Pam (Sean) Wachutka of Dumfries, Va., Rebecca (David) Kaspryzk of Elgin and Cathy Brockman of Brenham; one son, Mike (Marsha) Brockman of Cestohowa; sister, Naomi Brown; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, Alice “Peggy” Brockman; and his infant son, Mark David Brockman.

A graveside service was conducted Monday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in San Antonio.
