Pettus – Christmas isn’t really Christmas at South Texas Children’s Home Ministries until several hundred “friends” from churches from the Blanco Baptist Association convene at Boothe Campus on the first Friday of December.
On Friday, Dec. 6, church members of all ages arrived bearing gifts, food and plenty of good cheer.
During the evening of festivities, children and guests played games, sang songs, enjoyed a meal together and opened gifts provided to each child by the sponsoring churches.
One of the highlights of the evening was a full group participation performance of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” led by Jeff Brewer, STCHM director of development, and Leah and Benjamin Brewer. The audience was divided into 12 groups, and each group acted out motions associated with each day while singing the song.
Those attending said it was an enchanting evening to be sure.
