Bertie N. Gaskins, 91, of Wynne, Ark., formerly of Beeville, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at White County Medical Center in Searcy, Ark.

Mrs. Gaskins was born in Southsaw, Okla., on July 27, 1922, to Harry and Loraina Panell Dunlap. She attended school in Meetie, Okla., and was married in 1945 to Johnnie Gaskins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She worked in the fabric department of West Department Store in Rock Springs, Wyo., and was a member of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Petroleum Club in Shreveport, La. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Casper, Wyo., where she taught Sunday School and was in charge of Training Union. In younger years, she was an avid basketball player, and her team went to the state playoffs.

Survivors include a daughter, Sondra (Stanley) Mitchusson of Wynne, Ark.; a sister, Marie Burgess Miley of Tulsa, Okla.; a half-brother, Francis Marion Burgess of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren, Melissa, Kye, Travis, Kobe and JPaul; and great-grandchildren.

A private service by the family will be at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Wilson Funeral Home in Wynn, Ark.
