Julia Diaz Puga, 85, of Beeville, died Saturday, March 8, 2014. She was born on April 11, 1928, in George West to Timoteo and Isabel Guzman Diaz. She married Erasmo C. Puga in September 1952. She was a retired housekeeper and lifelong member of Our Lady of Victory Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Octavio and Jose Diaz.

Survivors include a son, Felipe Puga of Beeville; two daughters, Janie McKibben and Mary (Carlos) Hughes of Beeville; a brother, Cosme (Amelia) Diaz of George West; a sister, Connie (Eddie) Diaz of Pleasanton; four grandchildren, Ronnie Puga and Robert McKibben, both of Beeville, Joyce De La Cruz of Holland and Veronica Dierkes of San Antonio; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel with a rosary recited there that evening a 7 o’clock.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Our Lady of Victory Church with Father Luke Thirunelliparambil officiating. Interment followed at Berclair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Servando Suniga, Leeroy Flores, Daniel Diaz, David Diaz, Kenneth Rini and Silverio Flores.

Honorary pallbearers were Veronica Dierkes, Joyce De La Cruz, Annadina Flores, Robert McKibben and Ronald Puga.
