Officials postponed the trip to Six Flags in San Antonio Friday for Thomas Jefferson Elementary School students because of the outbreak of swine flu.

Principal Sarah Jaure said, “(The teachers) did check with the health department and it was not suggested that we do this at this time.”

She added that the teachers still hope to take the students later in the year. The trip, she said, “is a reward for the students for having worked all school year.”

In place of the trip, the students will be treated to a game and movie day on campus.
