On Thursday, March 20, the A.C. Jones One-Act Play participated in the UIL Zone Competition at the Victoria Performing Arts Center with their performance of “All in Disguise” by Gene Traylor and James Michael Elrod under the direction of Kerri Ramos.

The students received several individual awards including: best actor – Deavan Foster; all-star cast – Nicole Rivas, Jerald “Cat” Cisneros and Ivan Foster; honorable mention all-star cast – Courtney Roberts and Jared Landreth; tech award – Josh Schwindt; and third place in the Spike Tape Challenge – Christina White and Adrian Zapata.

A.C. Jones was chosen as one of the two advancing plays to move onto the district level along with Victoria East.

The UIL district competition was held Thursday, March 27, at Gregory-Portland High School. Again, the students walked away with best actor – Ivan Foster; all-star cast – Deavan Foster; honorable mention all-star cast – Nicole Rivas and Jerald “Cat” Cisneros; and tech award – Valerie Perez.

The play received alternate play (meaning if one of the other two advancing schools are unable to perform at the area level, the A.C. Jones cast and crew go on).

A public performance of “All in Disguise” will be held Friday, April 11, in the A.C. Jones Auditorium at 7 p.m. Admission is $3.
