The Rialto Theater will present EVOK (the Eclectic Voices of Kingwood, a professional vocal chamber ensemble) from the Northeast Houston/Lake Houston area of the Houston metropolitan area on Friday, May 30, at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will be at 118 N. Washington St. in downtown Beeville (the building next to the theater). Tickets will be $30 per person and may be purchased at Hogue’s Jewelry, Wicker Basket and Libby Spires CPA office, all in downtown Beeville.

EVOK is a group of 16 select voices auditioned from the student body of Lone Star College-Kingwood and incorporating professional musicians working in the music field from the surrounding community. The choir’s unique repertoire includes a broad range of vocal genres such as Renaissance madrigals, sacred motets, vocal jazz, modern, American classics, popular and more.

The founder and director of the group is Dr. Todd Miller, director of choral activities at Lone Star College Kingwood. Their spring tour includes performances at South Texas historic theaters, and the Rialto Theater in Beeville is one of the venues on their tour.
