Excitement is happening at the Rialto Theater in downtown Beeville. Much progress toward the completion of the renovation is currently being scheduled, and members of the Hall-Rialto Preservation Association are working diligently to continue progress of the historic theater.

A benefit concert for the theater will be presented on Friday, May 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the building next to the theater located at 118 N. Washington St.

EVOK, a professional vocal ensemble of 16 singers from the Houston Metropolitan area, will present a concert including a Kentucky Shaker hymn, “Love is Little,” American classics such as Hogey Carmichael’s “The Nearness of You,” and English madrigals such as “Fair Phyllis” and much more.

Tickets are $300 per person and may be purchased at Hogue’s Jewelry, Wicker Basket and Libby Spires’ accounting office. Tickets may also be purchased from one of the members of the Rialto Board (Louise Hall, Libby Spires, Julie Vrana, Sally Friedlander, Tammy Alaniz, Rita San McGuil, Mark Parsons, Robert Beck and James Lee).

For more information, call Mark Parsons at 358-3859.
