Ysidro “Sid” Carabajal, 64, of Beeville, died Saturday, June 21, 2014.

Mr. Carabajal was born April 14, 1950, in Beeville to Carmen Benavides and Ysidro M. Carabajal Sr. He married Ramona Garza in Beeville on May 28, 1983, and was a retired truck driver for Beck Brothers. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ysidro Carabajal Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona “Mona” Carabajal of Beeville; children, Priscilla Torres of San Marcos, Ysidro “Sydd” Carabajal III of San Antonio, Mayor David (Bettina) Carabajal, Danny Garcia, Rose Marie Carabajal, Mickie (Ernest) Lucio, Veronica (Santiago Sanchez Sr.) Lopez and Rachel Carabajal, all of Beeville, and Patricia (Carlos Mellado Jr.) Carabajal of Dallas; 20 grandchildren; his mother, Carmen B. Carabajal of Beeville; a brother, Gerald (Dora) Carabajal of Houston; sisters, Anita (Terry) Sellers, Stella Silverleaf and Santos (Joe) Shavor, all of Beeville, and Rachel (Theodoro) Gutierrez of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Visitation was held Wednesday, June 25, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel. A rosary was recited there at 7 o’clock that evening.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, June 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

Pallbearers were David Carabajal, Sydd Carabajal, Jessie Garza, Jeremiah Munoz, Santiago Sanchez Sr., Alex Carabajal, Gerald Carabajal and Vaughn Carabajal.

Honorary pallbearers were Richard Garcia, Carlos Mellado, Christopher Almaguer, Pablo Garza, Santiago Sanchez Jr. Jesus Sanchez, John Michael Torres, Gabriel Ramirez, Michael Anthony Sturdivant, Anthony Vega, Luis Espinoza Sr., Luis Espinoza Jr. and Carlos Isidro Espinoza.
