The Kids College 2009 theme is “Icons of the 1960s and 1970s.” Participants in the annual summer day camp at Coastal Bend College will learn the music, dress, slang, crafts and important social and scientific issues that were raised during this period.

For the final performance on July 2, 2009, the students will present Broadway show tunes and music from pop culture of the era.

Kids College runs from June 8 to July 2, Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Additional afternoon activities run 1-5 o’clock. All segments of Kids College will be led by qualified and creative instructors and supervised by the Continuing Education Division. Students have the option of buying meal tickets or bringing their own.

Kids College is $240 for morning sessions only or $349 for full-day sessions. Those just interested in afternoon classes (dance/karate, art, guitar or Rialto Theatre Workshop) can opt to pay $52 per subject area. Barnhart Scholarship funds may be available.

To register, contact the CBC Continuing Education Division at (361) 362-2633 or stop by CBC Lott-Canada Facility at 900 W. Corpus Christi St. in Beeville.
