First Baptist Church School will celebrate 40 years of Christian education to the community on Sunday, Aug. 9, with an anniversary/reunion lunch, Power Point presentation and school memorabilia display.

Juanita Blanton, who taught the very first kindergarten class in 1969, will be the guest speaker. She continued to teach kindergarten at FBCS until her retirement in 1997.

Marianne Awalt Peters, who first attended FBCS as a kindergarten student in 1979, will be teaching computer class this fall. Her daughter, Mary Grace, will be attending pre-kindergarten.

The school committee is extremely grateful to all of the parents who have chosen FBCS as the school they want their children to attend. It is their desire to always provide a Christian environment and a well-rounded quality educational experience for every child in Beeville.

Everyone is invited to attend and see the ministry that has taken place over the past 40 years at FBCS, said organizers.
