Skidmore-Tynan Elementary places first at district UIL

The Skidmore-Tynan elementary students, shown above, participated in the recent District 30AA Academic UIL meet and took home 1st place for the second year in a row. They are looking forward to the awards assembly that will recognize their efforts.

For the second year in a row, Skidmore-Tynan Elementary captured first place at the District 30-AA Academic UIL Meet

Skidmore-Tynan Elementary hosted the District 30-AA Elementary UIL Meet on Jan. 9 and captured first place with 494.65 points. Other districts participating in the UIL competition included: Odem - 2nd place with 251.85 points; Banquete - 3rd place with 158 points; Refugio – 4th place with 114 points; Bloomington – 5th place with 71 points; and Taft – 6th place with 65.5 points.

The students participated in 21 events, and S-T Elementary students placed in every event. An awards assembly will be held to recognize the accomplishments of these students.

The school faculty and staff are very proud of the students and appreciate the support and encouragement from the parents.
