One $1,700 scholarship will be awarded to a woman considered to be in transition due to loss of spouse through death or divorce, loss of job, physical disability, health issue, or other circumstances. Forms may be downloaded through the Coastal Bend Community Foundation website at www.cbcfoundation.org or are available by calling the Foundation at 361-882-9745. Deadline to apply is May 15.
In addition to being a woman in transition, applicants must reside in the seven-county area served by the Coastal Bend Community Foundation and must have a high school diploma or GED certificate. They also must attend the Coastal Bend College, Del Mar College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi or Texas A&M University-Kingsville, complete at least nine credit hours each semester and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Executive Women International is a networking organization for female executives representing top firms. The Corpus Christi chapter was chartered in 1983.
