As most A.C. Jones High parents and students know the week of April 26 brings the TAKS tests to school districts across the state. A.C. Jones is no exception, but this year a different approach is being used.

In an effort to provide the best testing experience and atmosphere for the students, a delayed entry approach will be used, high school officials said. If a grade level is not testing on a particular day, students will be allowed to delay coming to school until 12 noon. For those students who do not have transportation for the delayed entry, the buses will run at the regular times and students will be transported as usual. Upon arrival at school students will then report to the auditorium.

By providing delayed entry, it is felt that there will be less distraction and confusion during testing, school officials said, and allow those who are testing to be more focused and less stressed. Provided below is the TAKS testing schedule and the delayed entry schedule.
