Mr. Coffey was born May 19, 1944, to L.D. and Eunice Coffey. He was a native of Alice, was a self-employed truck driver and member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Walker Springs, Ala. He also worked as a taxidermist for a hobby.
Mr. Coffey was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. and Eunice Coffey; and a daughter, Kerri Lynne Coffey.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene R. Coffey of St. Stephens, Ala.; three sons, Eddie Ray Coffey of San Antonio, Bobby Foster of West Virginia and Willie Coffey of Theodore, Ala.; two stepsons, Todd Ready of Putnam, Ala., and Dustin Parnell of St. Stephens, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Ashley Noland of St. Stephens, Ala.; a brother, David (Linda) Coffey of Beeville; two sisters, Paulette C. (Bob) Humphrey of Waller and Jeanette (Joe) Sciba of Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Latham Funeral Home chapel in Jackson, Ala.
A funeral service was conducted there Wednesday at 11 o’clock with the Rev. William Allison and Jimmy Butts officiating. Interment followed in Clearwater Cemetery in Wagarville, Ala. A guestbook may be signed at lathanfuneralhomes.com.
Pallbearers were David Coffey Jr., Joey Stringer, Nick Coaker, Bobby Humphrey Jr., Jeremey Coffey and Cody Ready.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson, Ala.
