The month-long filing period opened on Sunday for people interested in any of the four positions coming open this year.
Positions, all at large, coming open are that of Esequiel Ortiz Jr., Cipriano Guerra Jr., Danny Gonzales and Keith Petrus.
Ortiz, who serves as vice president of the board, was recently appointed to serve as constable as Precinct 4.
Gonzales serves as secretary of the board. Both Petrus and Guerra are board members.
Candidates seeking one of the four open trustee positions have through Aug. 24 to file for candidacy for an open seat with the school district.
Voters will choose board members for the school district in the Nov. 2 election.
To be eligible for a trustee position, candidates must be 18 or older, a resident of Texas for at least one year prior to the filing deadline, and a resident of the school district in which they are filing for at least six months prior to filing.
Candidates must also be registered voters.
Applications can be picked up at the Skidmore-Tynan ISD central office.
The Skidmore-Tynan ISD central office will be open on Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. from today through Aug. 5.
The office will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Aug. 9 until 24, the last day to file.
