A docent is a trained volunteer who leads tours at the Beeville Art Museum. Do not worry – those interested do not have to know about art. The museum will train volunteers. All that is needed is a willingness to learn and to share time and knowledge.

Docents can sign up for as many tours as they like. The museum will have a tour schedule at the training session so docents can plan around their personal schedules.

Other opportunities are available at the museum as well. The museum welcomes anyone to be a part of its volunteer team.

Volunteers can gain experience working with the public and become aware of how art can enrich and enhance lives.

Volunteers can greet guests at the door, help with art activities, or act as a host/hostess at exhibition openings.

Teens can volunteer after school or on weekends if interested. In addition, volunteering at the museum is a great way to fulfill service requirements for clubs or scholarships.

Whether leading tours or volunteering in other ways, anyone interested is always welcome at the Beeville Art Museum.

For more information regarding becoming a docent or volunteer, call the Beeville Art Museum at 358-8615.
