Teachers, librarians invited to open house

Beeville ISD and private school teachers and school library staff are cordially invited to an open house hosted by the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library to be held at the library at 110 W. Corpus Christi St. in the multi-purpose Dougherty Room on Thursday, Aug. 12, from 8 to 11 a.m.

This will be an informal event in which all are welcome to drop in or stay for a while. Information about what the library has to offer educators will be available, such as discounts on personal and professional book/media purchases, research assistance for teachers, databases on a variety of topics, inter-library loans for teachers and students, discounts on copying, extended checkouts, programs for adults and children on a variety of topics, a homework center, book clubs for children and their caregivers, classic and modern plays on CD and DVD to enrich the learning experience and more.

Brunch will be available and door prizes as well.

Admittance at 8 a.m., one hour before the library’s regular hours, will be available at the side door only for BISD teachers and library staff.
