The church was decorated with arrangements of pink and white hydrangeas, roses and daisies.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white designer strapless ball gown with beaded embroidery, beaded bodice pickup and a cathedral chain. Her veil was a mid-length one tier with pearl and crystal edges that accompanied a silver headband with side crystals and pearl designs. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas and pink accent roses.
The wedding party consisted of Laura Montes Trejo serving as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laurie Lopez, Kristen Ramirez, niece of the bride, Anna Obidos, Katharine Vaughn, Korinna Kieschnick, Maria Mendiola, Araceli Reyes, Natasha Wynn and Rita Martinez. They wore black knee length cotton sateen dresses with Y-neck and pleated skirts and carried bouquets of pink hydrangeas.
Junior bridesmaid was Carina Ramirez, niece of the bride, who wore a tea length watermelon cotton sateen dress with ruching detail around the waist. Alexis Trevino was flower girl and wore a white satin spaghetti strap with a pick-up floor length skirt and a watermelon ribbon accent around the waist.
Joe Rocha served as best man. Groomsmen were Gabriel Elizalde, Michael Haggard, Adrian Ramirez, brother of the bride, Lee Herman, Frank Puentes, Rudy Rosenbaum, Billy Diaz, Shane Weathersby and Michael Ramirez and James Ramirez, brothers of the bride. Ring bearers were Daniel Ramirez, nephew of the bride, and Marcus Hernandez. Kevin Lopez and Christopher Centeno served as ushers.
Following the ceremony, a Texas-style barbecue dinner was provided and served by Domingo Martinez Catering while guests listened to Mariachi Nuevo Royal. The tables were adorned with white tablecloths and centerpieces of hydrangeas, roses, daisies and peonies. Throughout the evening, entertainment was provided by Jerry & the Ruf-Nex who sang “At Last” by Etta James for the couple’s first dance.
The bride’s cake was a four-layer combination of white with pineapple filling with alternating layers of rich chocolate and white buttercream icing with black accent swirls adorned with an arrangement of hydrangeas and roses at the top. The groom’s cake was a single layer round carrot cake decorated with the couples scripted initials.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the bride’s parents the day before the wedding, was held at their home for the entire wedding party and family and friends.
The bride is the daughter of Ignacio and Dora Ramirez of Skidmore and granddaughter of Anita Serrano of Sinton, the late Pablo and Beatris Moreno and the late Gilberto and Herminia Ramirez. She is a 1994 graduate of Skidmore-Tynan High School and a 2000 graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos where she earned a bachelor of science degree in respiratory care. She is employed as a respiratory therapist in Corpus Christi.
The groom is the son of Angel and Dubelia Lopez of Papalote and grandson of the late Damian Pacheco, the late Dominga Guajardo, the late Angel Lopez and Dominga Lopez of Corpus Christi. He is a 1992 graduate of Skidmore-Tynan High School and 2004 graduate of South Texas Barber College. He is employed as a surveyor in Corpus Christi.
Out-of-town guests attended from McAllen, Edinburg, Houston, San Antonio, Michigan, Austin, Dallas, Zapata, Laredo and Corpus Christi.
The couple are making their home in Corpus Christi.
