The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Beeville will host a Fine Arts Education Program beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7. The steering committee for the program will be Lindsay Ray, chair; Sally Friedlander, Dr. James Lee, Cheryl Roberts and Rev. Jerry Huckman, ex-officio.

The program will be structured as a conservatory. Instructors in the program will be available to students in private or group lessons and the fees will vary with instructor. Enrollment will be open throughout the year for students from ages 3 and up. All skill levels are welcome. The program will follow the Beeville public school calendar, and each instructor will design a schedule to fit their students’ needs. The mission of the program is to allow students to express themselves through art and music, and enhance the spiritual life of our community through learning, constructive self-expression and growth through the arts.

Some of the instructors in the program are: Cheryl Roberts, choir and piano; Sally Friedlander, theater arts; Susan Crumrine, art and music; Lindsay Ray and Guadalupe Lopez, violin; and Jeff Brewer, voice. Additional instructors to teach the brass and woodwind instruments and guitar are scheduled to begin during the year as interest is shown by the community.
