Mrs. Paula Posada will celebrate her birthday with family and friends on Saturday. She will turn 80 on Aug. 29.

Mrs. Paula Martinez Posada of Beeville will celebrate her 80th birthday on Saturday with family and friends joining her at a dinner and dance.

Mrs. Posada was born on Aug. 29, 1930, in Beeville. She married Jose De Jesus Posada on Jan. 18, 1946. To this union were born five daughters and seven sons.

Her children and their spouses include Susie and Arnulfo Gomez, Janie and Jose Molina, Norma Posada and Greg Cuevas, Rosie Posada and Arturo Gutierrez, Joe and Josie L. Posada, Jerry and Josie C. Posada, John and Lydia Posada, Frank and Janie Posada, Ruben and Velma Posada, Paul and Irene Posada, James and Jackie Posada and the late Mary Helen Flores. Mrs. Posada’s husband passed away in 1974.

In addition to her children, she is also blessed with 28 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Joys in Mrs. Posada’s life include the love of family and music. She enjoys cooking and is known for her home remedies to care for family and friends in need. As a housekeeper here and in neighboring communities, she touched the lives of many family and friends and is fondly remembered as a sweet and caring person.

A celebration in her honor will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, beginning at 8:30 p.m. at the Chick-A-Saw Dance Club with music by Los Tremendos V and Conjunto Volcan.
