Nathaniel S. McNeill, 84, of Tuleta died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, in Corpus Christi.

Mr. McNeill was born in Sawyer, Okla. on July 15, 1926, to Dan and Roma (Head) McNeill. He married Sara Shoemake on Sept. 10, 1997, in Tuleta. He was a retired gauger for AMOCO Oil & Gas Co. and a member of First Baptist Church in Tuleta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Roma (Head) McNeill and a grandson, Marshall Stautzenberger.

Survivors include his wife, Sara McNeill of Tuleta; two daughters, Vicki (Carroll) Blaschke of Austin and DeAnn (Gene) DeLong of George West; three stepdaughters, Judy (Freddy) Nolen of Pettus, Evelyn Jacoby of Tuleta and Rita (Bruce Smith) William of Pettus; two stepsons, John (Suzanna) Jenkins Jr. of Tuleta and Donald (Tressa) Jenkins of Pettus; two sisters, Evelyn Hubotter and Pearl Kaatz, both of Three Rivers; two brothers, Thurmond McNeill of Dilley and Dan (Ann) McNeill of Tyler; three grandchildren, Clay Blaschke and Neil Blaschke, both of Austin and Nikki DeLong of George West; 17 step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 25 step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Eckols Chapel in Kenedy. A graveside service was conducted at Three Rivers Cemetery Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Jack Allen officiating.

Pallbearers were Clay Blaschke, Neil Blaschke, Frank Garcia, Jimmy Hollensworth, Mike Smith and Darrel Frye.

Honorary pallbearers included Steven Morgan, Paul Ables and Otis Pearce.

Arrangements were under the direction of Eckols Funeral Home Inc., Kenedy.
