Tasha Phillips is the daughter of Robert and Leah Phillips and the sister of Chelsea Phillips. She has been a part of Goliad ISD for 13 years. She will soon be ending this chapter of her life to continue here education at Texas Lutheran University in the fall of 2012. Tasha has always been incredibly involved with her school and with one week left until graduation, continues to help out when she can. She has been Class Parliamentarian in Student Council her freshman and sophomore years and her junior year, she was elected Executive Historian on the Student Council Board. Although she was outran for Executive Secretary her senior year, she decided to pick up two more organizations to fill the void: TAFE and FFA. Also during her junior year, Tasha was inducted into the National Honor Society and was elected Parliamentarian here senior year. She is currently vice president of FCCLA and has been a part of this of this club since here freshman year. Tasha has also been involved with athletics since beginning high school. While the sports she participated in thinned out through the years, so she could focus more on her academics, she has always pursued her interest in tennis, gaining the MVP Award her junior year. Her senior year, Tasha was presented the with the O. G. Copeland Award. This award goes to the highest ranked senior girl and boy involved in athletics. She also received the All District Academics Award all four years involved in athletics. Another organization, Tasha had dedicated many years to is the Goliad Tiger Band. Since first joining the Band in sixth grade, she has been with the band for a total of seven years. Tasha was a representative for her class here freshman, sophomore and junior years. In her senior year, she is currently holding the vice president position on the Band Council.
Tasha was also elected Color Guard Captain her junior and senior years and received the first place award for Best Color Guard USSBA Pre-Contest both years. Since freshman year, Tasha has made it her goal to graduate as high in her class in her abilities and hard work would allow her to. With this goal accomplished and behind her, she has set her sights on a similar goal for her college career. Tasha is a firm believer in the saying, “Anything of value is worth the hard work.” This mentality, along with her pursuing attitude toward her grades is how she believes she succeeded in her high school career.
Beth Marie Henning is the daughter of Debbie and James Henning, the younger sister of Joshua and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylan Franke and Mrs. Tassie Henning. She has been a Goliad Fighting Tiger fan for 13 years. At GHS, she has held the office of class president of the sophomore and junior class; vice president of GGA and president of the National Honor Society. Beth has experienced with all of the sports that Goliad has to offer but chose to play here two favorites in order to stay at the top percentage of her class. This year, Beth was a member of the District Champion basketball and softball teams, receiving second team district honors on both. She as honored with the All-State Academic Softball and Basketball Team Award and also received the Ruben Heil Hustle Award, an award that is given to a boy and girl who are most active throughout their four years in athletics. Outside of school, Beth is a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Goliad County Youth Board. Another organization Beth is active in is 4-H. She has been a member of the Stampede 4-H Club for 10 years where she has shown animals at the fair, participated in photography, livestock judging and many other activities She currently is the District 11 4-H Chairman and is on the State 4-H Council with 32 other students who represent Texas 4-H. Her family, friends and the Goliad community have raised Beth to become an organized, fun-spirited and determined individual who is ready for what life has in store for her. She will graduate on Jun1st with a total of 18 dual credit hours and will be attending Texas A&M in College Station in the fall.
