A wellness day was held for PK-6 students on May 23 targeting the CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) goal of incorporating the 3 E's (Education, Exercise and Eating Right) into our school health program for students. Presenters included DSHS (Health Dept), McDonalds, Citizen's Medical Center, GHS ECHO students, GHS CNA students, Coach Amy Psencik, Mary Alice Rubio, Dietary Supervisor, Becky Ham with Texas Agrilife Ext., HEB, GEIS PTO, and Lions Club sponsoring an obstacle course for exercise. SHAC (School Health Advisory Council) members assisting with the event were Julie Dorsett, Luis Hernandez, Joy Broom and Alethea Albrecht, Dora de la Garza and Rosie Garza. Bottled water was donated by the Spirit of Republican Women's group.
