Jerry Murray Edwards, Jr., 59 of Fayetteville, North Carolina, formerly of Goliad passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 after a battle with cancer. He was born February 13, 1954 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Jerry M. Edwards, Sr. and the late Rebecca Riddkle Edwards.

Jerry was in the construction business and built many homes and apartments in and around Goliad, Victoria and Fayetteville. He was very talented in many areas of his life and was known for “getting of vision of what he wanted to build and then building it.” He enjoyed playing his drums and drag racing. He spent many hours working on his race car with his brother, Charles.

He is survived by his father, brothers Phillip and Charles Edwards of Fayetteville; James (Randy) Edwards (Lisa) of Victoria; sister, Carolyn Johnson (James) of Goliad; nephews, T. J. and Travis Edwards of Victoria; Chris and Scott Edwards of Fayetteville, Eric Westphal of Goliad, Brian Edwards of Atlanta, Georgia; nieces, Zoe Edwards of Illinois and Rebecca Johnson of Goliad.

He is preceded in death by his mother and his only son, Jerry Wayne Edwards.

Services were held on Thursday, June 7 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Grays Creek, North Carolina.
