Elystino Reyes, a 7th grader at Goliad Middle School, attended the 2012 Victoria Business and Education Coalition. He was nominated by administrators, counselors or teachers from his school or church and after submitting the proper paper work was selected for this honor.

During the four-day event, he had the opportunity to climb a rock wall, gain knowledge from a team of incredible dogs, observe exciting science d4emonstrtions, interact with dynamic, successful leaders and have lots of fun. He will also have the opportunity to practice true leadership by learning to serve others while participating in community-service projects throughout the year.

The conference fee was $150 per participant; however Pioneer Natural Resources provided a $100 scholarship for Elystino. On Monday, he received the citizenship award and at closing ceremonies, he was named the Outstanding Citizenship candidate. He is the son of Ermondo and Ester Reyes.
