Tigerettes split pair of district matches

The Goliad Tigerettes suffered their first District 30-2A volleyball loss Friday at the hands of the Edna Cowgirls by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 26-24, 25-22 at the Goliad Events Center.

Avery Zamzow led Goliad (15-11, 3-1) with 11 kills and three blocks.

Cara Thomas had 21 digs and Sydney Morris added 19. Kayla Friend tallied 18 assists and Ashtin Zamzow recorded 11. Morris also had three service aces.

On Sept. 11, the Tigerettes improved their 30-2A record to 3-0 with a 25-17, 25-12, 27-25 win over the Bloomington Lady Cats.

Morris had eight kills and 18 digs for Goliad, and Avery Zamzow added seven kills.
